Tasting notes
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Tangy toffee apple, with gentle, warming ginger spice. A hint of orange zest. Rolled oats, with some raisin and cherry notes bringing that sherry punch.
Palate: Malted milk biscuits, honey nut cornflakes, and lashings of full-fat milk. The sweet spice is back with more of the dried fruit, some vanilla, and a hint of orange returning.
Finish: The malt notes linger for a long time on the finish, with just a hint of sherry remaining.
Comment: Some nice maturity here brings spice and body as well as gentler notes.
8.2
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Mineralic, wet clay, freshly mixed cement, and limestone gravel dust. Slightly metallic, with a trace of a sweet vegetal aroma. Honeyed root vegetables with hints of smoked lavender and rosemary.
Palate: Very light bodied and sweeter than expected. Initially sugary, like candy sticks, with hints of vanilla gingernut biscuits.
Finish: White pepper with a mild ginger spiciness, and dried rosemary in the medium-length finish.
Comment: A little unrefined around the edges, but with an intriguing earthiness.
