Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: A lazy, sweet peatiness contains some resounding oaky elements. Finely tuned.
Palate: A massive blast of seaweedy iodine leaves no doubt to its origins and the follow through of delightfully sweet malt and brine is awesome.
Finish: Long, lingering peat lives contentedly with the drying oak.
Comment: Top drawer stuff that balances out beautifully, retaining a stupendous freshness for its age.

Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Light. Juniper. Blackcurrant.
Palate: Smoky. Sweet. Malty. Peppery.
Finish: Light, leafy, sweet, refreshing, therapeutic. Sea air. With water, a touch of salt.
Comment: All the oily, waxy, junipery, bush-like flavours of Caol Ila, but the whiff of the sea comes late.
7.8
