Tasting notes
Taster   Alwynne Gwilt
Nose: A gentle beast – very delicate, almost floral. Some warm summer hay and fresh peach cobbler. Perfect summer whisky nose.
Palate: Milk chocolate, honey and wonderful, zingy peaches and mature fruit. So moreish. Perfect to sip in the back garden on a warm summer’s evening.
Finish: Fleshy fruit, nectarines and almost a cardboard, filing paper note.
Comment: Loved this. Lots of complexity but wonderful soft fruitiness. Would happily go back for a few drams of it and would never guess the ABV was 46%.

Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: A lovely, fresh and citric nose – grapefruit, lime and lemon, then smoked meat and honey. An odd but compelling combination! Hints of earth and manure. The honey is luscious.
Palate: Lightly oiled with a touch of caramel oak. It’s less citric than the nose but there is plenty of barley to offset the oak. The tannins develop on the middle adding a touch of coffeed spice.
Finish: Good length with lingering barley and wood spices. A little dry and dusty at the death.
Comment: I hoped the ‘funkiness’ of the nose would follow through on to the palate, but it was more conservative.
