Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Well constructed. Rich and sweet, a bold and oily base to some spices, candied orange and old pine. May have older stocks to give it body and complexity.
Palate: A balance of strawberries and cream, gooseberries and earthy notes, but also a little weak. Would have been nice at a higher ABV.
Finish: Not as intense as it could be, with a little too much sweetness (think sweet mint tea).
Comment: Fantastic nose, but I hope economics have not got in the way of what could have been a rich and unctuous palate, let down by its strength.

Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Crisp, herbal grain aromas mingle with velvety American oak. Dusty barley and oak indicate older spirit may be at work. With time a touch of perfumed lime and gooseberry appears with toasty butter notes.
Palate: Plenty of toffeed oak, caramel and lactose notes. Oak dominates and dampens. A touch of crisp grain spirit breaks the stranglehold.
Finish: Good length with the cleansing grain and citrus coming through.
Comment: I had a sneaky feeling whilst nosing this that the oak would be too over-powering for the palate. I was correct in that assumption.
