Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Leafy and autumnal, a little menthol. Carrot cake then heads a little meaty – pork and lemon kebabs with lime mayo, then warming charcoal. With water there’s a salt note too, smoky.
Palate: A little prickle from the alcohol, then vanilla ice cream and wafers. Strawberries and dark chocolate.
Finish: Hot and the tannins kick right in, however water draws the finish out and increases all the sweetness.
Comment: A delightful single malt, something for the hip flask and the hills. Will certainly keep you warm.
8.2
Taster   Sam Coyne
Nose: Ice-cream sundaes, with a saccharine citrus aroma. Toffee and a honeyed syrup.
Palate: Pretty spicy. Cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. There's a marzipane nuttiness developing too. Follows up with fudge and a gentle chocolate brownie note.
Finish: More of the nuttiness from the palate. Water makes it a little more mellow.
Comment: Good spice and a bit elemental, however the nose doesn't really follow through on the palate.
