Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Fragrant, summer barley with dried grass.Alcohol prickle but the late arrival of white fruits, honey, dunnage and vanilla oak add balance. Water makes it feel older.
Palate: Soft and full with a barley sheen and citrus notes. Rose oil, herbs, vanilla and spice. Water emphasises the oils and brings out an unfortunate old cardboard note.
Finish: Neat, it is a little short and mouth-watering. Diluted it’s more succulent with dusty cereal husks.
Comment: I think this has been bottled just in the nick of time.
8.2
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Warm and winey with some pine in the background.
Palate: Apple juice this time, with a hint of grappa and some citrus style bitterness.
Finish: Lime zest and more lime zest.
Comment: Tastes like lime pickle. Could have done with more time in the cask
