Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: The alcohol hits off here at first, really punchy but after a while it calms down revealing quite a subtle floral side. A little water helps to bring this out more. Rose water, dark chocolate and a little roasted coconut. Some fresh apricot and almond croissants too. A little coffee grind note as well.
Palate: The sweetness of that apricot and almond mix comes through, also more fruits emerge: apples, roasted peaches and blood oranges. There is a gentle oak tannin grip coming through slowly as well.
Finish: Now the oak asserts its power, chocolate coated coconut macaroons, and it slowly dries leaving sweetness.
Comment: Really quite lovely once that ABV is backed off.

Taster Becky Paskin

Nose: Crisp malt and luscious fruit pastilles give way to creamy milk chocolate, heather honey, roasted hazelnuts and juicy raisins.
Palate: Green banana skin and kiwi with a drizzle of honey. Then a layer of caramel, more hazelnuts and oak spice with a bitter tannic char that drives up through the middle, before resting on a bed of baked apples and fleshy conference pears.
Finish: Barely burnt salted caramel popcorn and Riesen chocolate chews.
Comment: A touch of water is recommended to temper the heat and release those luscious fruits.
