Tasting notes
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Vibrant. Raspberry jam, ground almonds, but creamy, fresh and delicious! Dried figs, mincemeat, prunes, with fresh dough and apple pie.
Palate: Astounding. Heather honey. Ground almonds, chocolate and damson jam, with blackcurrants, raspberries, figs and prunes. Sauternes, redcurrant, a balsamic acidity. Binding it all is malted barley.
Finish: Endlessly oily, with a tart fruit and syrup contrast. Barley.
Comment: Astonishingly good. Youthful? Who cares. A class act.

Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Very grapey – reminiscent of pisco. Caramel, straw in the sunshine, wet chalk and milk chocolate.
Palate: More grape spirit on the palate. This seems like a pretty young whisky – mainly distillery character and not much wood in there. Caramac sweetness develops into tarmac and stone minerality on the mid-palate, plus some cocoa.
Finish: The cocoa develops into a dark, bitter chocolate finish.
Comment: There’s real interest here, but I’d love to taste a bit more age on the liquid.
