Tasting notes
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Heavenly sweet and nutty, like French toast with a layer of marzipan running through it. Warming cinnamon spice and dry tingly oakiness.
Palate: Chopped dates, prunes and cherries in syrup, chopped almonds, and cigar box spice. Plenty of nuttiness with roasted nutmeg.
Finish: Sweetness from the rich fruits remains on the finish, with nutty spice heating it up.
Comment: Certainly one for those with a sweet tooth.

Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Old wood, barley extract, and gingery-rich bready aromas like sweet rye bread, pumpernickel, or slightly scorched hot cross buns. This has the deep, sweet aromas of treacle cake, burnt sugar, or barley wine.
Palate: Stewed fruits, apples and raisins soaked in fortified wine. Dense, like fruit cake or Jamaica cake with salted butter.
Finish: A medium-length finish full of both wood and alcohol astringency, with a peppery spiciness and toasted bread.
Comment: Some lovely rich notes, but it has a wort-like whiff.
