Tasting notes
Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: Fresh, mild antiseptic, subtle peat smoke.
Palate: Complex. Smoked haddock, cut plug tobacco, burnt newspapers, but buttery, sweeter cooked fruit notes predominate.
Finish: Chewy toffee drying out to oak.
Comment: A fine robust dram with lots happening. Laphroaig at its best.

Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Sweet. Tarry with stewing citrus fruits (like making marmalade). Bere meal, varnish and tar. Like fence posts in the sun/caulked wood.
Palate: Big blast of smoke, then oak, malt, with sweetness and orangey fruit. The phenols lurk...
Finish: ...then reappear with a crunchy oatcake.
Comment: Sweeter and more oaky than I remember.
