Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Sea pinks, samphire and salt licked Marram grass. Then a big malty note like barley fields after the rain. Red apple. Waxy like fresh snuffed candle then into Chamomile tea and white pepper spice.
Palate: A little saline at first, then salt and black pepper crackers. Soft creamy cheese – brie baked in a box. Roasted red peppers and a little black cherry.
Finish: Really long and after some initial sweetness it dries with a little salt edge.
Comment: Really lovely balance.Fruit and floral notes given room to play. Summer in a glass.
8.6
Taster   Sam Coyne
Nose: Faint, sweet smokiness. Apple and pear heavy fruit salads. This grows into a white wine note. Sweet.
Palate: A rich mouthfeel which initially prickles. Sweet fruit salad, then smoked tropical fruits. It's really nicely balanced for something with so much sweetness.
Finish: More savoury than the palate would suggest and completes an all-round good dram. There's a burst of salted caramel too really compliment things.
Comment: Great stuff. Well balanced whisky that doesn't get carried away in any direction.
