Tasting notes
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Lemon drizzle cake. Peaches and apricots, a drizzle of vanilla. Eventually green apples, cashew nuts, and a hint of old roses. Not especially forthcoming.
Palate: Honeyed. Green apples with a slight bass note of malted barley. Floral, light and elegant stuff, with traces of blackberries, gooseberries and pears.
Finish: A little woody, with a dash of dried sour cherries. Salty too, and citrus returns.
Comment: Well-crafted, if a little uncomplicated. Something lovely for the summer months.
7.7
Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Clean orange oil and blossom notes, copper and some sweet spice. I find this quite shy on the nose in comparison to the rather big, ballsy palate.
Palate: That orange initially hits but is quickly taken over with some sea salt, and then a really beery, sticky hop note – more on the fermentation side than the finished product. Some freshly laid tarmac.
Finish: Those hops really stick around for me. It’s almost as if someone has dry-hopped this whisky!
Comment: Hopping mad.
