Tasting notes

Taster Michael Jackson

Nose: Resiny. Piney. Peaty.
Palate: Piney. Stunningly fresh peat flavours.
Finish: Sweet, salty and peppery. Astonishingly long.
Comment: A beautifully composed whisky. Classic intense, Scottish flavours.

Taster Jim Murray

Nose: Smoky, but not overly so. The peat is soothing.
Palate: Pretty young for a Springbank and there is a slight coarseness amid the malt.
Finish: Remains peppery and peaty.
Comment: Enjoyable, but ideally needs another five years to smooth the rough edges.
