Tasting notes

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: Chunks of dates in sticky toffee pudding sponge, then a hint of gloss paint on pine wood, orange marmalade, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Palate: Lovely soft cedar wood, with toasted rye loaf. Grated nutmeg on sweet vanilla French toast. Orange zest, with red berries and ginger spice.
Finish: Lingering nutmeg and cedar wood, lovely and warming with vanilla peppermints.
Comment: I’m a little bit in love with this to be honest – it has that spiced kick, but with a whole lot of balance and excitement in the flavour profile.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Spicy cinnamon, clove and star anise. Liquorice, camphor, tea tree oil and menthol. Some milk chocolates and honeyed almonds. Gingerbread and cola, too.
Palate: Medium-full. Sweet cola. Spicy gingerbread with lots of cinnamon and nutmeg. Golden syrup, candied ginger, candied orange and prunes in syrup. A very delicate almond note. Subtle menthol.
Finish: Medium, on cola sweetness and aromatic woody notes.
Comment: A very drinkable, sweet rye.
