Tasting notes

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Prunes, raisins, menthol, candied orange, cinnamon stick, and pumpernickel. A little cardamom and dill.
Palate: Medium-bodied. Sourdough doughnut, filled with custard and dusted with cinnamon sugar. Cherry cola, Fruit & Nut chocolate bar, and wholemeal toast with damson plum jam.
Finish: Medium-long, on pumpernickel.
Comment: Sugar, spice and everything nice.

Taster Bethany Whymark

Nose: Rich and fruity. Black cherry, blackcurrant, damson, echinacea, milk chocolate-covered raisins and blanched almonds. Brazilian coffee with warm milk. Dark brown sugar, port, and new leather.
Palate: Medium. A gateau with cocoa-rich sponge and dark fruit compote. Vanilla latte with nutmeg. Cookie dough and crystallised ginger. Blackcurrant liqueur, and hints of peppermint and juniper.
Finish: Medium-long, drying. On ginger biscuits and sweetened black tea.
Comment: Flaunted its richness in a restrained, mature way.
