Tasting notes

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: A lovely combination of fresh peaty smoke, with some dark berry compote, honey and sage.
Palate: More of the rich red berries coming through, alongside an undertone of smoke, oak and cinnamon spice.
Finish: That smoked note lingers, with more cinnamon spice.
Comment: The nose was very enticing to me, and although it delivered on the palate there could be a touch more complexity to entice.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Delicate cut pine, slightly sappy, with lemon zest, pear drop and sweet pastry. Gooseberry jam, blossom honey and plain fromage frais. Subtle cardamom and buttered sourdough with burnt crust. In time, very subtle pipe smoke.
Palate: Light-medium. The citrus and subtle sappy notes are joined by a faintly smoky and medicinal edge, but this fades quite quickly and clementine, vanilla and pear drop notes emerge.
Finish: Short-medium length. Faint almond, then green apple skin.
Comment: A pleasant Swedish companion.
