Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Banana bread and apple flan with custard. Brown sugar and candied pink grapefruit. Water mellows the nose and reveals honey on toast and marmalade.
Palate: Medium bodied. A bit hot. Fruit salad: red grape, apple and banana. Water brings out sweet syrupy notes, with candy apple and a touch of caramel.
Finish: Medium-short. Fades on grape skin.
Comment: A few big flavours and no faults other than the heat, which water soothes.

Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Grandma’s tiramisu at Christmas. Luscious thick cream, crushed flake, and vanilla sponge layers. Orange zest, cherry jam and pistachio.
Palate: Rich black cherry. That heat hits quickly, drying to more crushed pistachio on a pastry with raspberry and icing sugar bringing a little sweetness. A dusting of cinnamon and old oak box.
Finish: Lingers with that pistachio and icing-covered raspberry before dry oak.
Comment: H.O.T. Adding a little water enabled more enjoyment.
