Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Slightly turfy smoke at work here. Hazelnut and Walnut Whips. Becomes increasingly malty, Ryvita, dried fruit. Slightly plain and oaky.
Palate: Opens to light smoke. Some oak-derived depth. Doesn’t like water and lacks oomph.
Finish: Nutty.
Comment: Why bottle a 15 Years Old single cask at 40%?
7.6
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Slightly rancid and butyric. Overripe apples. A earthy touch. Wet wood. Varnish. With water, opens on nicer notes. Vanilla fudge.
Palate: Smooth and sweet. Velvety. Nice feel. Cooked fruit. Apples and medlars. Touch of honey.
Finish: Pleasantly smooth, with a fresh liquorice note.
Comment: The nose is not appealing. But the taste is interesting. Water improves the nose but not the palate.
