Tasting notes
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: Raspberries and oranges. Muscat grapes. Expensive wax candles scented with sandalwood and musk –very enticing. With water red currant jelly and rosehips come out.
Palate: Baked apricots and plums with a rum like richness. Fruit loaf with sultanas and gentle spices. Cranberry and then blackcurrant emerges and slightly takes over.
Finish: Heat fires from front to back of the mouth like a rocket.
Comment: Unusual and I preferred it without water. It’s a zippy character and doesn’t want to hang around.
8.6
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Malty at first, almost warning rye bread. Woodland honey, cooking herbs, bouquet garni. Some exotic fruits too, papaya, passion fruit and ripe banana.
Palate: Big and bold, still has that lovely honey sweetness, ginger root and Oxford marmalade. There are great spice notes too, cinnamon and cumin mingle.
Finish: Autumnal notes, Parkin cake, cinder toffee and clotted cream.
Comment: A belter of a whisky. A touch of water just brings it out of itself.
