Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Rich, deep. Elegant and harmonious. Oak and dried fruit are beautifully intertwined. An earthy note. Moss, fern with a fungal touch. Rancio on its way. Dried apricot, sultanas. Complex. Gets biscuity on time.
Palate: Surprisingly crisp and alert for its age. Oak prevails but in a sophisticated expression. The sherry shines through.
Finish: Dry, fading away rapidly though.
Comment: A wonderful nose while the palate delivers less but keeps elegant.

Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Shows its age - very positive whisky rancio. The initial character suggests cherry-based cough medicine. Deep and complex, with beeswax polish, sandalwood and an exotic scented quality. Excellent.
Palate: Big and soft to start. There's the cherry note (here dried), some rhubarb, Cola cubes, and light tannins but its slightly too muted.
Finish: Drying tannins. Mixed peels
Comment: Lovely nose but not fully backed up on the tongue. In cask just too long.
