Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Intense, rich, deep oak. Antique furniture shop. Touch of Turkish delight. Fading roses. Dried fruit. Dates and raisins. Opens on pastry notes. Dundee cake. Coffee and walnut cake. Really enticing.
Palate: Round, silky (raw silk). Wood is dominating but in an elegant way. Rich, melted oak. Tobacco leaf. A hint of burnt wood.
Finish: Lingering, dry, with a clean astringent edge.
Comment: A superb after dinner dram.

Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Melted brown sugar, salted caramel and rosewater. Eccles cakes and buttered pastries. Antique oak boxes, wardrobes, with a floral edge.
Palate: Cigar tobacco, plenty of sweet oak, demerara sugar, cream fudge and a fried tomato note.
Finish: Moreish, sweet and lush, with a hint of liquorice.
Comment: The liquid equivalent of hiding in the wardrobe, no lion or witch mind you.
