Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Sweet. Obviously a liqueur. Cinnamon, chocolate, orange peel. A touch of eucalyptus.
Palate: Thick, syrupy. Quite spicy and not cloying. The higher strength balances the sweetness. Eucalyptus again, pepper, plenty of ginger.
Finish: Lingering, spicy.
Comment: Interesting aromatic profile and good balance. To be enjoyed on crushed ice with chocolate or vanilla ice cream (or both !!).
8.2
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: An odd herbal note, reminiscent of balsam, wood glue and sap. Cherry Bakewells. A savoury edge of air dried ham. Red liquorice and bitters.
Palate: Dark chocolate and espresso grinds, treacle toffee again. A mature quality, oak and leather but married with a sweet spicy edge.
Finish: Smooth and dry, with a touch of Christmas cake.
Comment: More a sherry hand grenade that a full on bomb, but lovely stuff nonetheless.
