Tasting notes
Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Delicate nose of sharp fruit (nectarine pits, yuzu), sweeter notes of liquorice and hazelnut paste and a sappy pine aroma hanging at the back.
Palate: Lovely creamy mouthfeel at first. A bed of vanilla that’s been scattered with grapefruit pith, yuzu, charred pineapple, sawdust and liquorice root.
Finish: Tingly and cooling, with eucalyptus coming into play.
Comment: A light whiskey overall, with two clear parts; first up rich and smooth, then cooling and zingy. I enjoy unexpected flavour developments like this.

Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Unusual, to say the least. A fennel note with undertones of sweet, supermarket Chinese-spice seasoning. Sour cherries. It isn’t very forthcoming at all.
Palate: Pleasant texture at first, with a plain dollop of vanilla and black pepper. Green apples and the menthol returns. Sour cherries return more notably from the nose.
Finish: Disappointingly short, oily, with simply vanilla and warming black pepper.
Comment: Very unusual flavours for a grain, and feels somewhat Bourbon-like.
