Tasting notes

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: A slice of toasted rye bread covered in orange marmalade and butter. Floral heather, mint leaves and orange juice. Florentine biscuit, fruit pastilles and tar.
Palate: Rich and drying. Melted butter and chocolate in a pan, Christmas pudding with candied peel, raisins and sawdust. Toffee ice cream with rye spice, cinnamon and pepper.
Finish: That rye spice really dries up, leaving toffee, milk chocolate and pie crust.
Comment: Each aspect has a moment in the limelight, giving it balance and finesse.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Intense plum wine and blackberry notes. Beneath are cedar and hickory, Camp Coffee and sweet orange oils. A touch of chinotto. Tarragon and chocolate fudge. Brandy-soaked raisin, and a whiff of cigar box.
Palate: Medium bodied. A whack of heat, but it calms on the palate. Tart fruits of the forest. Blackcurrant wine gums. Candied orange and ginger, with milk chocolate.
Finish: Medium-long. Gently drying. The blackcurrant candy note lingers.
Comment: Really very tasty. Bravo.
