Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: A stationary cupboard: new paper, Blu Tack and felt-tip pens on pine shelving. Instant coffee granules and green apple. Porridge with honey, cream and nutmeg.
Palate: Custard creams. Lots of condensed milk in a little coffee. Behind it all there’s delicate orchard fruits (apples and plums) and a touch of cinnamon. Brown bread with honey.
Finish: Short and sweet, with a touch of bready-ness too.
Comment: Sweet and simple, but unnervingly moreish. Has enough interest that one could probably drink it all day.
7.8
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Dusted hard boiled sweets, calming sage, then a sharp tang of grapefruit, freshly baked pie crust and cinnamon roll.
Palate: Green leaves and cedar wood, very earthy. Then icing sugar, marzipan, sage and a minty kick. New shoes and warming pine notes.
Finish: Nice warmth, medium with pine and a hint of almond.
Comment: Very delicate, but just the right side of it to be interesting and with some building complexity. Nothing too intense going on.
