Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Clean, fresh, dessert apple skin. Honeycomb toffee
Palate: Soft, smooth, caressing. Very lightly fruity. Zabaglione. White peaches. Amaretto macaroons.
Finish: Toasty. Winey. Malaga?
Comment: In general, Midleton is a bit too elegant for me, but this is a lovely vintage. The Yquem of whiskies?
8.8
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Quite lean, aromatic and complex: sandalwood, polished furniture, nutmeg and spice. Oak tones alongside crème caramel, oil, tobacco.
Palate: Rounded with treacle toffee and a mix of dried spice, oak and a rich, oily texture with a crunchy centre.
Finish: Long.
Comment: Not one, but two world-class whiskeys. All hail the two Barrys!
