Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Herbal and malty with a good degree of medicinal and earthy peat. Hints of treacle and sun dried sultana follow. Very deep and chunky!
Palate: Lighter than the nose suggests with more emphasis on the dried fruit. Not as malty but a little more refreshing with a lovely citric note balancing the treacle. Subtle medicinal peat and the treacle thickens towards the middle.
Finish: Long and lightly medicinal with sweet, dusty peat infused treacle and a touch of Bowmore-esque violets.
Comment: Big, robust, chunky, very malty and with just the right amount of peat. Impressive.

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Incredibly fruity, this smells akin to a lot of new world European whiskies. Raspberry jam, beer-batter, travel sweets. From the nose, this is good spirit and good maturation.
Palate: Slap bang what the nose sketches out, the palate delivers with an extra hint of spice and some coal smoke wafting over the top. New linen hung outside on bonfire night.
Finish: Smooth, rounded with a hint of spice and smoke.
Comment: Lovely. Unmistakably ‘new world’ with big flavour, but it competes shoulder-to-shoulder with Scotch.
