Tasting notes

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: Dark and brooding, with dried dark fruits that are soaked in rum, cinnamon pastry and mascarpone dolloped on figs in syrup.
Palate: A continuation of the nose, with the dark fruit sweetness, followed by malted milk biscuits, vanilla cream and more of that cinnamon sweet spice.
Finish: Rounds out with scraped vanilla pod and the dark fruits.
Comment: It’s decadent and intense, certainly not for the faint hearted!

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Old rubber bands, kiwi, and green strawberries. Raw sourdough, tinned pineapple rings, orange squash and muscovado.
Palate: Light bodied. Led by mandarin segments and peanut, with some subtle cream coffee and moderate tannin. Iced tea with honey and very subtle orange blossom water.
Finish: Medium short, ending on the florals and orange notes.
Comment: Well integrated, easy going and full of flavour, but for me that rubber note on the nose toes the line of acceptability, given the style.
