Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Heather in bloom, bracken and gorse bushes in flower. Orange marmalade on toasted seeded brown bread. A herbal quality of rosemary and thyme.
Palate: Honeycomb block of honey and orange blossom jelly. That savoury note comes through with the roasted beetroot before morphing into a buttery pasted crispy chicken skin note.
Finish: Long, sweet and all those earthy notes emerge, dried with a herbal quality.
Comment: A great dram, one for the hills and a hipflask. Warming and delightful.

Taster   Sam Coyne
Nose: One for those looking for breakfast whiskies – you know who you are! Toast and jam, with faint smoke. The toast is slightly burned, but we can't all be perfect. Slightly cooked fatty meat.
Palate: Much sweeter than the nose, with honey and citrus, although oak quickly takes over. Becomes malty.
Finish: Malty sugar and earthy flavours. Lingers for a long time.
Comment: Some really interesting flavours. The oak is perhaps a little wicked in the middle.
