Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: A big, slightly brawny, oaky nose with diffused peaty notes.
Palate: Immediately dry as the oak bites hard, but the peat and honey offer traditional Orcadian riches.
Finish: Long, with vanilla and a rich grapey fruitiness. The peat hangs on to the very end.
Comment: A pretty old and slightly tired malt but the richness of the peat and malt, and the harmony they create, makes this a delicious dram. Big stuff.

Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Fragrantly peaty.
Palate: Good flavour development, beautifully balanced as it unfolds. Fragrantly smoky, then nutty, becoming flowery, and finally honeyish.
Finish: Late, clean, appetising, smokiness.
Comment: Very good indeed as a lightish, delicate, interpretation of Highland Park.
