Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: There is an immediate spiced note on this whisky of mustard seed, clove and cardamom. Hidden underneath are some delicate vanilla notes and water reveals red cherries.
Palate: A well-balanced palate which gives more fruity notes of peach and plum backed with whipped butter, ginger and ginseng. The peach note lingers longest.
Finish: Some additional fruit notes which blossom well with water.
Comment: An excellent dram which comes alive with a drizzle of water to give great fruity notes.

Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Intense, oily, marzipan coated banana and malt. A slight feintiness in the background and the oak grips, but it has a lovely depth and some almost Amontillado nutty notes.
Palate: Malty and nutty with again a subtle Amontillado character. Straightforward but deep with vanilla, charred oak, thick honey, barley, hazelnuts and heather.
Finish: Superb length, full of wood spiceand slightly drying tannins. The honey adds balance.
Comment: Lots going on, a few too many wrinkles for me.
