Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: A hint of peat, and a robust suggestion of fresh oak.
Palate: Textured. Chewy blend of marzipan, jam and icing sugar. Like drinking a Bakewell tart.
Finish: Almondy dryness. Satisfying.
Comment: A good example of this distinctive and under-rated malt.
8.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Intense, high-toned and tight. Floral with honeysuckle, vanilla, wood.
Palate: Complex mix of malt, ginger and nut. Fairly grippy though it broadens in middle.
Finish: Toasty, short.
Comment: Strathisla is always charming but can be a touch frosty. This is one of those.
