Tasting notes

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: Intriguing, with lemongrass cordial at first, followed by juicy nectarines and a hint of anise that cuts through.
Palate: Things mellow out somewhat, with crunchy nut cornflakes, fresh barley, pear and almond upside-down cake and some prickly ginger heat.
Finish: There’s the prickle of spice still, but it mellows out quickly.
Comment: An interesting flavour journey – not what I was expecting, but full of intrigue and complexity.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Desiccated coconut, marshmallow fluff, white chocolate, nectarine, tangerine and strawberry cables. Slightly resinous. Some frosted peach candy rings and sweet malt drink (Horlicks) notes, too.
Palate: Light bodied, but somewhat oily. Eve’s pudding and golden syrup-soaked sponge. Dried pineapple and sultana, with a subtle perfumed element.
Finish: Delicate nuttiness builds for a medium-length finish.
Comment: An elegant and wellintegrated Highlander.
