Tasting notes

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: Tropical fruit notes, a pineapple and coconut milk smoothie. Then it gets darker, with smoked peanuts, syrupy figs and toasted coffee grounds.
Palate: Not quite so rich here, still with the coffee notes, but not giving those toasted notes. A little elderflower freshness, dried chunks of pineapple and more of the fig, followed by smoke and salt.
Finish: That salinity lingers on, alongside the smoke that wraps everything up and stays with you.
Comment: This is basically a day at the beach with a bonfire and barbeque thrown into the mix.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Quite reserved. Plasticine and rubber bands, thyme, pear drop and wood smoke. Water opens things a touch. Instant coffee milk powder. A touch of engine oil.
Palate: Medium-light. Concentrated eucalyptus, smoked ripe green apple and pears, and a touch of capsicum. Liquorice stick.
Finish: Medium-short, on liquorice that fades to apple core.
Comment: Clean, balanced and spirit-forward, but takes a lot of time to open up. Too long, in my view.
