Tasting notes

Taster Mark Newton

Nose: Cherries with a tomato or umami undertone. Vanilla and burnt toffee. Wood tannins show. Wafts of cranberries, cinnamon and lively coriander.
Palate: Chewy, dry texture. Sour cherries, cranberries, dates and lots of wood heat. Muscovado sugar, golden syrup, nutmeg and strawberry jam tarts.
Finish: Warming, with woody bitterness. Just enough play between the sweet and bitter notes.
Comment: A tasty tart of a Bourbon. Simple, deep and deliciously fruity flavours.

Taster Laura Foster

Nose: Papaya, mango, peaches and nectarines. A healthy slug of vanilla. There’s something a bit green and funky in the background too – namely gherkin. The combination almost verges on synthetic.
Palate: Juicy, tropical and spicy. It reminds me of tropical-flavoured chewy sweets.
Finish: Numbing spice, a lick of pickled gherkins and pineapple on a medium finish.
Comment: Totally tropical taste (Lilt!).
