Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Warm. Cow's breath and sweet hay with a hint of scented smoke, lemon. Mature. Becomes fresher and greener in time, hedge clippings.
Palate: Clean, leafy with an acidic energy. Good orchard fruits in, then hazelnut and light smoke. Good balance.
Finish: Tight and slightly smoked.
Comment: Has maturity and presence. Ardmore: a complete package.
7.8
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: An unwelcome note of damp wood at start which gives way to wet straw then citrus fruit (orange pulp). Takes times to open up. Grated coconut.
Palate: Smooth at start then getting drier and slightly sour. Grippy oak, Touch of leather.
Finish: Dry, spicy (paprika).
Comment: Oak is prevailing, especially on the palate. Lacks balance and charm.
