Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Deep, rich. Cooked fruit. Lemon marmalade. Dried fruit (apricot). Shortcake.
Palate: Smooth, rich, mouth-coating. Wood is perfectly integrated. Citrussy and refreshing with a touch of liquorice. Nicely polished.
Finish: Warm and gentle. Hint of candied ginger. Honeyish aftertaste.
Comment: A clean spirit, well matured and combining balance and smoothness. Very satisfying.
8.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Butterscotch and bounty bars mixed with marzipan. Crisp toasty oak, bread crust. With water become grassy, tweedy with a whiff of juniper.
Palate: Fat, but slightly flat. The middle is floral (damp lily petals). Thins badly with water which is surprising at 50%.
Finish: Short.
Comment: Has a cleanliness and delicacy but lacking in impact overall. You expect complexity from old whiskies.
