Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Complex and rich: burnt stick, wood ash, smoked ham and haddock, roasted pepper, chamois, Savlon, toasted oats. Creaminess.
Palate: Smoky and powerful with a dry start. Big and broad with layers of flavour: smoke, fish, coconut, wet grass, harbour fronts. Great balance.
Finish: Lightly medicinal.
Comment: An extra dimension over the OB.

Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: Wood smoke, pears, mild antiseptic, old-fashioned wound-dressings.
Palate: Rich leather and vanilla, dry oak and bonfire smoke.
Finish: Lingers well, increasingly dry. Touch of Germolene?
Comment: Conclusion: Another perfectly fine Coal Ila, but nothing to blow the mind.
