Tasting notes
Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: Lots of smoke, molasses, coal-tar soap. Very focused.
Palate: Increasingly dry. Bladderwrack and machine oil.
Finish: Smoke and oak plus brine, but also sweeter notes trying to come through.
Comment: Good all-round Laphroaig. Sound stuff.

Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Peat reek and deck oil, toasty oak, then a sweet cereal: Sugar Puffs. Fruit, dried orange peel. Begins to dry and smoke: wet canvas, iodine.
Palate: Supple with a sweet, generous mid palate balanced by crisp malt/oak. Smoke on the back palate: tar, peppered mackerel, light salt.
Finish: Lightly oily. Liquorice and smoke.
Comment: Good balance between sweet/soft and dry/peat.
