Tasting notes

Taster Chris Goodrum

Nose: Crisp with sweet corn, linseed oil coated rye bread and darker, wheat notes. The oak is well hidden but develops with time as do some sour mash notes.
Palate: Fuller and malty with treacle, rye bread and bitter chocolate notes. Hints of almond oil, sour dough, spice and wheat/bran flakes on the middle.
Finish: Quite bitter, sour and spicy, enhanced by the alcohol but the treacle offers some balance, well, sort of!
Comment: Intriguing and contemplative. In fact it goes rather well with Green and Blacks organic milk chocolate!

Taster Joel Harrison

Nose: A closed nose that really benefits not from water, but just time in the open air eventually revealing Madagascan vanilla, toffee apple and oak chippings.
Palate: Clean with a sweet twist, this is a tale of two halves. The clean crispness of the spirit hits first, then the sweetness of the oak comes through.
Finish: Butterscotch, herbal notes of lavender and mint.
Comment: Is this a sipper? Yes. Is it a mixer? Probably.
