Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Bagfuls of sweetness, fudge, tablet, maple syrup covered pancakes. Thereis a zip of citrus freshness then a chilli kick. Decent oak grip too.
Palate: The sweetness continues as does the oak grip bringing a creamy custard note, vanilla Danish. Hints of cherry tobacco, dark treacle.
Finish: Sweet with a dusty dryness.
Comment: An interesting and unusual rye, but well worth a look.

Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Unusual for a whisky. Very sweet. Treacle, maple syrup. Reminiscent of a rum orange liquor. Orange peel.
Palate: Sweet and liqueur like! There is obviously added sugar. The same molasses, treacle, sugary notes as in some rum. Caramel. Creamy, vanilla custard.
Finish: Sweet and cloying. And short.
Comment: I would never have guessed it was a rye whiskey! Where is the spicy crispiness of the rye?
