Tasting notes
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Fresh Bakewell tart, with almonds, cherries and some orange zest. Then toasted rye bread with thick-cut marmalade, ginger and nutmeg.
Palate: Glace cherries, crystallised ginger and cinnamon and honey biscuits. Some tarragon, along with almond French rye toast and marmalade.
Finish: That ginger spice and sweet cherry lingers on the finish, with a herbal hint of peppermint leading it out.
Comment: This is a spicy little treat, with a lovely combination of rye spice and sweetness.

Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Vanilla, pear drop, candied orange, cinnamon and clove. Sawn oak and a little polish.
Palate: Light. Sweet and grainy. Vanilla syrup, some baked apple and pear notes, and a little ginger heat. Then a little like Russian honey cake: rye sponge, honey, syrup and whipped cream.
Finish: Short, on vanilla syrup.
Comment: This will appeal to people who like sweet and easy-drinking grain whiskies.
