Tasting notes
Taster   Sophie Donovan
Nose: Quite floral with apricots and pears. Some oak and vanilla notes showingthrough. There is some peat lingering in the background.
Palate: Lots of fruit, caramel, some hay. A wisp smoke and seaweed. With water itbecomes sweeter, bringing out leather and more oaky notes.
Finish: Sweet, slightly fruity with gentle smoke. Well rounded.
Comment: Complex with a good balance of fruit and peat.

Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Distant moss fires, wood burning stoves, pine forests in the sun. Honey roast peanuts, brown sugar, violin cases and old music books, leather notes too.
Palate: Spices come through in waves, a little anise, ginger and cumin. Pipe tobacco. Sweetness of juicy fleshy fruits, mango and kiwi, then the peat ramps up.
Finish: Big explosion of peat and spices and then it dries.
Comment: Another stunner from Port Ellen.
