Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Meanwhile back in the hayloft. Very reminiscent of the farm yard, bags of barley, goat's cheese and a grass and straw laden fire. Then some juicy fruits emerge, pineapple and orange.
Palate: Those feruits bring sweetness initally, chocolate orange and pineapple with golden syrup. Then that grass fire starts to build, turning more to smoked goat's cheese.
Finish: Takes its time with the smoke lingering and fading into sweetness and fruit.
Comment: A big characterful whisky perfect for winter.

Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Attractive yet unusual. Sandalwood smoke, resinous, with citrus, syrup and ginger. Apricots, sultanas, mango, pine, before dried tea and honey.
Palate: Slightly unbalanced – ashy smoke, a nice maltiness, with fudge, caramel, bitter coffee. Woody, too, with hints of dried fruits. It’s effective and pleasant.
Finish: Long, warming, with the ginger, sandalwood and cloves not quite meshing.
Comment: A ton of character, charm and individuality - which is rare these days.
