Tasting notes
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: Tinned pears and fruit salad with lots of syrup. Clean aromas of agave, and sweet Gomme syrup. Grain like with floral notes of hyacinth, daffodil and blue bell.
Palate: More of the tinned pear, white peach and salted lemon. Lots of flavours one would find in a pâtisserie, butter pastry, malted loaf with a bitter finish of apple pie.
Finish: Sweet and short with a slightly salty lick.
Comment: Great nose but a little unforgiving for my palate.
7.2
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: A blast of pine resin, sand paper, fermented fruit and freshly chopped herbs. All very unusual indeed.
Palate: A youthfulness is very much in evidence here. Bright, brittle fresh pear notes sit alongside a spirity note and fresh oak vanilla/tannins.
Finish: Very short, with orchard fruit notes.
Comment: Needs a far greater (and longer) interaction with the cask to truly show off its assets.
