Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: A big aroma that leaps out of the glass full of burnt sugar, dark fruit compote and a little edge of autumnal leaves.
Palate: The rye tries to grip but there is a lot of dominant oak. The sweetness comes more towards the end.
Finish: Dries wonderfully leaving a faint coffee note.
Comment: Was worth waiting for. Again a great evening drink to savour.

Taster Dave Broom

Nose: Dark and more fungal with plenty of caramelised fruit and a leafy, privet like dustiness. A hint of spice gives the rye away. Glossy candied fruit. Kirsch.
Palate: Assertive rye on the tongue but the oak his gripping a little strongly at the expense of the sweetness.
Finish: Bitter rye and oak.
Comment: A red-haired femme fatale.
