Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Unusual. Strong blackcurrant leaves and flowering currant aroma. Close to Sauvignon! On the same tone, passion fruit. A whiff of vanilla. Enticing. Very Irish.
Palate: Sweet and crisp at the same time. Exactly in tune with the nose. Loads of currant and passion fruit. Incredible fruity character. Spices show up after. Pepper and ginger.
Finish: Lingering, fruity and spicy. Getting astringent.
Comment: A full basket of blackcurrants and passion fruit. Stunning finish. An old Irish achieving perfection.
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: Wet granite and flint at first. Then rhubarb, russet apple, red currant and pomegranate – all quite dry.
Palate: Mulchy ripe fruits. Cordite at full strength but water reduced this. Warm sheds. Lots of blackcurrant cordial which lingered.
Finish: Rather cloying texture, smoother with water.
Comment: The blackcurrant flavours washed the more subtle spices away.
