Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Plum wine, cherry brandy, and treacle tart. Pear and blackberry pie with a dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg. A bowl of roasted pecans, walnuts and hazelnuts, with raisins and candied ginger pieces.
Palate: Full. Unctuous, with distinctive hazelnut and plum notes. Wholemeal rye bread and toffee cake. Porridge with applesauce and chocolate pieces. Banana fritters dipped in golden syrup.
Finish: Long and sweet, on hazelnut and green apple, too.
Comment: Immensely indulgent and complex. Sherry-cask led but balanced.
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Spices almost like a chai latte, with cinnamon, nutmeg and oat milk appearing. Then vanilla custard over a sticky toffee pudding.
Palate: The spice lingers on, but now more like cinnamon and honey cookies. A hint of punchy oak warmth coming in.
Finish: That spice keeps hold for a long finish.
Comment: The spice has a real hold on this whisky, but with plenty of character and precision.
