Tasting notes

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: Almost like chai tea at first, with a zing of orange zest thrown in. Oak spices enter with some runny caramel, sweet ginger, and finely chopped mixed nuts.
Palate: That nuttiness remains, with nutmeg, pecan and almond butter drizzled on top. There are hints of stroopwafel and chilli heat, too.
Finish: Orange zest returns on the finish with the caramel and gentle nutmeg.
Comment: I’d really like to try this out in an old fashioned!

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Medium-sweet American oak influences and nutty aromas of peanut brittle, hard-set caramel, chocolate mousse, orange fondant and coconut cream, dried tree bark, dried mint leaf.
Palate: Medium bodied and candy sweet, with hints of dry dark chocolate and slightly salted praline walnuts. Complex, mellow spices – cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.
Finish: Short and sweet, with biscuit and cereal, and drying wood spices.
Comment: Complex oak, but you really have to search out any distillery spirit character.
