Tasting notes
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: Brown apples, wet sugar paper, a slightly earthy/ grapey note, Manuka honey and pollen filled white flowers.
Palate: Wow, very herbal and spicy. In fact, brittle herbal tablets begin to tingle on the palate first, with old overripe red apple skin, some chamois leather and honey enriched cream. Off kilter, but just about hanging in there.
Finish: More of the herbal spiciness, with a dry oaky back note.
Comment: One of the more unusual offerings out there, that's for sure. Spicehounds will love this one.
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Unusual. Intense. Myrtle, paint varnish. Reminds me of the nose of holly berries eau-de-vie. Vegetal.
Palate: Sweet at first then bitter. Again the same character as that Alsacian eau-de-vie. A mint hint.
Finish: Short, bitter.
Comment: Difficult to class this sample in the whisky category. Some odd maturation and/or finish? Too bitter for my palate.
